For a decade after completing my MFA, I wrote when I was able to carve out large chunks of time between motherhood and work and the rest of life. It wasn't until I started keeping a writer’s notebook that my writing practice became predictable—and exciting. In this session, I will share what I’ve learned over the past two years as I’ve grown in this practice: everything from cut-outs and doodles to quotations, lists, prompts, notes, and drafts. Using lots of visuals and case studies, I will share how my own creative writing students have benefited from it and how you can too.
